The National Press Club's Day Book, the central element of the NPC Home Page, provides a quick and concise summary of the many events occurring every day at the Club.
This page enables you to create or update your personal view of the NPC Day Book.
The National Press Club Day Book presents a summary of different types of events hosted by the NPC. The four major types of events are:
LUNCHEONS: Regular weekly luncheons for speakers began in 1932 and more heads of state and government appear at the National Press Club than any other forum in the world outside the oval office. Speakers at NPC Luncheons are selected by a speakers committee under the direction of the club president.
NEWSMAKERS: The Newsmaker series has been an important part of Press Club life since at least 1973. These sessions, usually held before noon, give reporters access to decision-makers and program implementors from a very broad spectrum of public life. The sessions are topical and are intended to give reporters hard news stories early in the day.
NEWS CONFERENCES: The National Press Club facilities are used hundreds of times each year for organizations and individuals announcing new programs, initiatives and to address issues. These events are listed as News Conferences on the NPC Calendar and Day Book.
MEETINGS: Board and committee meetings are listed in this category.
OTHER: The NPC Other category includes all events that are not one of the four major types. (LUNCHEONS,NEWSMAKERS,NEWS CONFERENCES or
MEETINGS).
ALL: Select this option to include events of all types in the Day Book display. This is the default setting for the NPC Day Book.
You can include any or all of the top four types of events be indicating your preference below.
Privacy Policy: Your Day Book customization information will be recorded in a small text file, called a "cookie", on your computer. This allows the NPC Website to present your custom selections each time you visit.
No personal information is obtained, recorded, or saved in this process. If you delete the cookie files on your machine you will loose any Day Book customization you created.
