Journalism Awards contest deadline extended to Tuesday

The deadline for entering the annual National Press Club journalism awards contest has been extended until May 7.

Details of the competition can be found online.The contest accepts Club member entries at no cost. The entry fee for non-members is $135. The contest gives you a chance to put your best work up against some of the top journalism from around the country.

The competition includes categories for breaking news, political writing, and specialty writing in areas such as aging, culture, press coverage and foreign policy. It also offers awards for the top news photography. Some categories include prizes of up to $1,000 and one year of complimentary membership for other categories.

The entry period will close on May 7. Winners will be announced in June, and we’ll celebrate on August 28 at the Journalism Awards Dinner. Purchase your tickets online.
